The Rowe Family

It all began in Year 1219, July 3th. The sun was shining brightly in the sky above the caravan of Richard Rowe. Richard's home was plundered by bandits, so he took the little he had left and decided to head out and try his luck. He walked for about an hour and a half until he noticed an abondoned farm. Slowly, Richard approached the farm and soon enough entered it. Inside, there were only a bunch of old spiderwebs and not a sign of life.

So Richard went out, took a shovel and tied his old, tattered family crest to it. He stick the shovel into the ground and started working on the farm. After a few years, he had restored the farm to its former greatness and had at least a few hundred meters of various vegetables planted.

On the Year 1220, sometime around in the winter, Richard went to the local town which was just about thirty kilometres away. There, he met Adel. She was a beautiful woman. Richard managed to convince Adel to be his woman-in-law and co-owner to the farm. Richard also hired about twenty farmhands from the town. The golden age of the Rowe family began.

Richard formed the House of Rowe with his loyal farmhands. The construction of Castle Rowe began. Adel and Richard got a child - Geoffrey. More and more settlers from other villages migrated to Village Rowe. The House of Rowe grew in power.

Year 1257, April 18th. House of Rowe consisted of about thirty loyal men. The Village had about fifty villagers and the Rowe family was gaining more power each day. Geoffrey was 37 years old now. Adel had died a few years ago to a heart attack and Richard was very sick, old and tired. Geoffrey was about to take over his fathers job. However, on that fateful day, an unknown force attacked the Rowe. About seventy men, quarter of them being on horse, another quarter crossbowmen and half being footmen. House Rowe stood valiantly with Geoffrey in the leadership against them, however, the enemy had the element of surprise.

In a single day, House of Rowe was disbanded. The Village was completely burnt down and looted. The Castle was slowly, piece by piece, destructed. Geoffrey, his family and some loyal House of Rowe men escaped through a secret passage to hide in the mountains. There, they try to survive and understand, who and why just hit them so hard. Fourty years of work gone to waste in a single day.

Geoffrey Rowe vowed revenge.
